Community Center
The Met was founded on the principle that it should be more than a traditional school. It should be a community center, a gathering place, hosting local events and activities to create a broader learning community. We provide opportunities not just for students but for their families, friends, and neighbors. We are proud of our tradition of involving community members in the daily workings of the school and are grateful for their reciprocal participation. Local professionals offer their valuable time and services to mentor our students, becoming their unpaid role models and educators. Local college students - particularly through Brown University's Swearer Center - volunteer hundreds of hours of time tutoring and mentoring Met students. Our existence as a school and a community center depends on your help. Thank you.
The Met is open from 7am until 9pm, Monday through Friday, with extended day programs for students, Family Nights, and summer programs for children.
